By depositing your project information and data into the BCO-DMO data system, your data become shareable, citable resources available for community reuse. Sharing your data through BCO-DMO is simple and requires only the few steps described below. Login with your ORCiD

  1. You will be prompted to login to the submission tool with your ORCiD account.

  2. Not sure if you have an ORCiD account? It's possible your instiution has already registered you.

  3. After you login, you're ready to start submitting data at BCO-DMO!

Register Project

  1. If your project has already been registered using the online submission tool, it will show up on your submission home page.

  2. To register a new project, click on the "Register a new project" button on the submission home page.

  3. You will be prompted to enter metadata and upload a Data Management Plan if relevant.

Submit Data

  1. Any datasets previously submitted by you or your project collaborators using this tool will be displayed on your submission home page.

  2. To register a new dataset, click on the "Register a new dataset" button on the submission home page.

  3. You will be prompted to enter metadata, add collaborators, and upload data files.

Review & Approve

Once you've submitted your data, a Data Manager will review and either accept your submission or request necessary further action. You can expect to hear from us within 2 business days about next steps.

Once accepted, a Data Manager will begin processing your metadata and data to make them available online. You can expect to receive another correspondence requesting review and approval of the work before BCO-DMO publishes and provides a DOI for your data.
